Velocity 240IR Steam Iron FAQ
Why doesn’t my iron get hot enough?
- The Velocity 240IR has two temperature settings. Auto Setting - safe temperature for all fabrics. Turbo – Maximum temperature and steam. To ensure the iron is heated completely, the red light will turn from red to green. During use, it is possible for the soleplate to cool off. If this happens the light will turn from green to red. A quick break is required to let the iron heat back up.
How do I override the automatic shut-off?
- The Velocity 240IR Steam Iron is equipped with an 8-minute auto-off. To disable the auto-off, hold the steam button for 5 seconds. The unit will beep and the lights will flash letting you know the auto-off is disabled. To enable the auto-off, repeated the same process. If the iron is unplugged, the auto-off will reset to the enabled setting.
Does the 240IR come with an off button?
- To turn the Velocity 240IR you must unplug the unit. This is a safety feature.
Do I need to use distilled water?
- If you have really hard water, we suggest emptying the water tank after use. This will ensure no settled water clogs the unit. For best results, always use clean fresh water. The use of distilled water is not required, but it will prolong the life of your iron.
How long does it take to produce steam?
- This depends on the heat setting. It can take anywhere from 2 – to 3 minutes for your item to heat up. During heat up the temp setting light will flash red. Once ready it will turn green and beep once.
Can I use a power cord or extension cord with the Velocity 240IR?
- It is not recommended to use with an extension cord or power bar/surge protector. If an extension cord/surge protector is absolutely necessary, a cord with an ampere rating equal to or greater than the maximum rating of the iron must be used. A cord rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating and will void your warranty. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.
