• The 3100IC is made for light to medium weight fabric, typically stretchy knitted material.

I have a range of knitted fabrics, will the 3100IC work?

• The 3100IC has a very robust differential feeding mechanism so it will handle a wide range of knits.

How many needles does the 3100IC have?

• The 3100IC has 3 needles, but you can remove any of the 3 needles to use as a 2-needle machine.

Can I remove the top coverstitch if I don’t want to use it?

• Yes, whether you are using the machine as a 2-needle or as a 3-needle, using the top coverstitch is up to you.

What is the 3100IC primarily used for?

• The 3100IC is used for hemming and coverseaming.

Does the 3100IC accept a binding attachment?

• Yes, but unless you are going to use it primarily for binding we suggest a flatbed machine for this.

How do I decide between a flatbed model and a cylinder bed model?

• We generally recommend the cylinder bed model (3100IC) for hemming and coverseaming applications.

What does direct drive mean and what are the benefits?

• Direct drive technology eliminates the need for an under-table motor and instead, mounts a highly efficient motor directly to the shaft of the machine. This allows for more torque (power), smoother and quieter operation and the eliminates the belt which traditionally connects the motor to the sewing head.

• The 3100IC is rated at a top speed of 6,000 rpm

What is the maximum stitch length?

• The 3100IC will sew a stitch up to 4.4mm in length.

Will I have to oil the 3100IC?

• The 3100IC is an automatic self-oil sewing machine. What this means is you simply put oil in the head and the 3100IC will pump oil automatically.

Does the 3100IC require assembly?

• When you receive your 3100IC, you are just a short time away from sewing. Simply remove the fully assembled stand from the pallet. Unpack and place the machine head in the stand, attach the belt and the thread stand and oil the head where indicated on the top. Plug it in and away you go.
