9000CD FAQ
How do I empty the water out of the 9000CD?
- First, turn off your boiler and steam and wait until it has cooled. Then, attach the drain hose, remove the plug, and proceed to open the drain valve into a bucket or drain.
How do I connect the direct water feed?
- The direct water line connects to the very bottom brass fitting on the top of the inside of the cabinet of the unit.
How large is this steam cleaning system?
- The dimensions of the 9000CD are 11.5”x 11”x 39”, or 29 x 28 x 99 cm.
What is the maximum steam pressure of the 9000CD?
- Up to 65 PSI, or 4.5 Bar
How heavy is the 9000CD?
- 38 lbs, or 17.2 kg before any water is added
How long does the boiler take to heat up?
- 20-30 minutes

- The 9000CD plugs into a regular 110/120V wall outlet
What sort of power does my Reliable steam cleaner draw?

What is the difference between the 8000CD and 9000CD?
- While both of these systems offer an uninterrupted steam supply through hooking up a direct water feed, the 9000CD offers additional flexibility. Not only is it on wheels so it can be easily moved around, but it contains a cabinet below the boiler where you can keep a bucket filled with water that the 9000CD can draw from instead of through a direct feed line. For this reason, the 9000CD is also about twice as tall as the 8000CD.
Where can I find the Care and Maintenance Instructions for this item?
- The Care and Maintenance guide can be found through this link.
What sort of water should I use in my boiler?
- While any water can be used, using cleaner water will extend the lifetime of your boiler. That being said, DO NOT use distilled water in this particular boiler. It will prevent the sensor from being able to read the water level and prevent it from automatically filling properly. If hard water must be used, ensure you are following the care and maintenance instructions found in your user manual by draining your boiler out regularly and avoid allowing water to sit and settle for long periods of time inside. We recommend draining your boiler at least once a week to prevent scale buildup.
This unit is advertised as a “dental steam cleaner”. Can I use the steam gun for other applications?
- Yes of course! We have customers that use our boilers with pressurized steam guns for many purposes including cleaning medical equipment, jewelry, lab devices, and various other industrial applications.
My steam gun is leaking. How do I stop this from happening?
- Sometimes you will notice initial “leaking” from your steam gun when you first go to use it due to condensation left in the hose from a prior use. This can also happen if your boiler has been overfilled but will stop once water levels have decreased to a lower level. If you have ruled out both of these possibilities and the issue persists, please contact our Support Team at support@reliablecorporation.com or call us at 1-800-268-1649.
How do I use the water measuring tube?
- To check the level of water in the boiler, remove the pressure safety cap and insert the water measuring tube until it touches the very bottom of the tank. Then, cover the opening at the top with your thumb and lift the tube out of the water to see how full it is relative to the maximum capacity of your unit. Please note that the maximum indicated on the water measuring tube will be lower than the amount of water that can physically fit in your tank. This is because you need to leave some room for steam!
Why does my boiler switch keep going on and off?
- When the boiler is generating steam, the red light on the boiler switch will be on. When it reaches maximum pressure the light will then go off. This will happen frequently while the unit is in use and is normal.
If I let my boiler run dry, will it burn out the element?
- While it is not recommended to let your boiler run dry, all Reliable boilers are equipped with a safety reset switch that will automatically shut the unit off if it runs dry in order to save the heating element.
How do I reset the boiler if the safety reset was activated?
- On the side of your unit you will see a black cap that says “Reset”. Unscrew this and press the black button underneath to reset your unit.
My boiler was working but now it won’t turn on, or it will turn on but won’t heat. How do I get it working again?
- Try activating the safety reset and check that the unit is properly plugged in and you did not blow a breaker. If the issue persists please contact our Support Team at support@reliablecorporation.com or call us at 1-800-268-1649
Can I use an extension cord?
- It is not recommended to use with an extension cord or power bar/surge protector. If an extension cord/surge protector is absolutely necessary, a cord with an ampere rating equal to or greater than the maximum rating of the iron must be used. A cord rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating and will void your warranty. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.
