2200SZ ZIG ZAG FAQ
What do I check when the thread breaks or the machine skips stitches?
Check the thread quality (too old, or not strong enough). Make sure the needle is inserted correctly, also make sure you are using the correct needle system, check for incorrect passage of thread, check that your needle is not defective (burr, bent or blunt), and check thread tension as to make sure it is not too tight.
What do I check when the needles are breaking?
Check that you are using the correct needle size for the particular job, make sure the needle is inserted correctly, and confirm you are using the correct needle system.
What do I do when the stitches are skipping?
Check that the the needle is inserted correctly, check to make sure the needle is not bent - replace the needle with a new one, select the correct needle size for the work that is being done, and make sure you are using the correct needle size and thread combination.
Why is the quality of my stitches poor?
First, check if either the needle or bobbin thread is loose. If the thread is loose on the top of the workpiece this is an indication that the bobbin thread is too loose and if the thread is loose on the bottom of the workpiece this is an indication that the needle thread is too loose. If the bobbin thread is loose reference page 5 figure 11 titled, "Adjusting Bobbin thread" and if the needle thread is too loose reference page 7 figure 19 titled, "Adjusting Needle Thread Tension".
