4100IS PROFESSIONAL STEAM IRON STATION FAQ
What are the differences between the 4100IS and the 5100IS?
- The 4100IS and 5100IS have a 2.2L boiler tank, a maximum pressure of 3.5 bar, and ECO mode. The differences are that the 5100IS has a pressure gauge, variable steam, and quick-connect fittings to attach our 2100IR iron. The 4100IS does not have a pressure gauge, no variable steam dial, and the iron is hardwired to the unit.
How do I empty the water out of the 4100IS?
- Turn the boiler off and unplug it. If the boiler is under pressure, please follow then remove the pressure safety cap and tip the unit upside down to drain it. If the boiler is under pressure, please follow the instructions in the manual or maintenance guide to safely remove the pressure from the boiler.
What is ECO mode?
- ECO mode is an energy-saving mode that keeps your boiler at a “ready state” of 2 bars (29 psi) of pressure which uses much less electricity than holding at the max. When you are ready to use steam, flick the switch to the “ON” position, and it will build up to full pressure in 1-2 minutes.
- IMPORTANT: DO NOT IRON in ECO Mode. This is a ready state and will not produce dry steam.
There is no pressure gauge on this unit. How do I know when it is at full pressure?
- When your boiler is at full pressure, the “Steam Ready” light on the side of the unit underneath the steam switch will light up.
How large is this ironing system?
- The dimensions of the 4100IS are 8”x 10.5”x 10”, or 20.3 x 26.7 x 25.4 cm.
What is the maximum steam pressure of the 4100IS?
- 50 PSI, or 3.5 Bar
How heavy is the 4100IS?
- 15 lbs, or 6.8 kg, including the iron, before any water is added.
How long does the boiler take to heat up?
- Depending on the water in your boiler, a full boiler with 1.9 L of water will heat up in 15-20 minutes.
How long is the steam hose connected to the iron?
- 7’, or 2.13m
Where can I find the Care and Maintenance Instructions for this item?
- The Care and Maintenance guide can be found through this link.
What sort of water should I use in my boiler?
- While any water can be used, using cleaner water will extend the lifetime of your boiler. For this reason we recommend using distilled water. If hard water must be used, ensure you are following the care and maintenance instructions found in your user manual by draining your boiler out regularly and avoid allowing water to sit and settle for long periods of time inside.
Ironing is causing my fabrics to shine. How can I avoid this?
- Shine is often caused by applying excess heat to the material in question. The easiest way to avoid this is to purchase one of our 2000IA iron shoe accessories to reduce direct heat and allow the iron to glide easier over your fabric. If for some reason you are unable to do this, you can reduce the chance of shine by not allowing the iron to sit on the fabric in one place for too long. You can also turn down the thermostat on your iron, but keep in mind that if you turn it down too low it can cause the iron to leak.
My iron is leaking. How do I stop this from happening?
- Leaking can be caused simply by having your iron thermostat set too low. Sometimes you will notice initial “leaking” from your iron when you first go to use it due to condensation left in the hose from a prior use. This can also happen if your boiler has been overfilled but will stop once water levels have decreased to a lower level. If you have ruled out all of these possibilities and the issue persists, please contact our Support Team at support@reliablecorporation.com or call us at 1-800-268-1649.
How do I use the water measuring tube?
- To check the level of water in the boiler, remove the pressure safety cap and insert the water measuring tube until it touches the very bottom of the tank. Then, cover the opening at the top with your thumb and lift the tube out of the water to see how full it is relative to the maximum capacity of your unit. Please note that the maximum indicated on the water measuring tube will be lower than the amount of water that can physically fit in your tank. This is because you need to leave some room for steam!
What is the silicone iron rest for?
- This is a handy accessory that allows you to rest your iron wherever the silicone iron rest is placed to avoid burning or melting anything. The iron rest can even withstand your iron at maximum temperature.
How heavy is the iron?
- The 2100IR iron included with your ironing system weighs 3.9 lbs, or 1.77 kg
If I let my boiler run dry, will it burn out the element?
- We strongly recommend not allowing your boiler to run dry, as doing so will increase wear and tear on your boiler and possibly void your warranty. Your 5000IS boiler is equipped with an overheating protection thermostat that shuts off the tank element when the tank is empty. Once the unit cools, the element will start to heat again. This cycle will continue until you add water to the tank or shut off the unit.
My boiler was working but now it won’t turn on, or it will turn on but won’t heat. How do I get it working again?
- Check that the unit is properly plugged in and you did not blow a breaker. If the issue persists please contact our Support Team at support@reliablecorporation.com or call us at 1-800-268-1649
Can I use an extension cord?
- It is not recommended to use with an extension cord or power bar/surge protector. If an extension cord/surge protector is absolutely necessary, a cord with an ampere rating equal to or greater than the maximum rating of the iron must be used. A cord rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating and will void your warranty. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.
